Have you ever thought about where the water goes when it enters a stormdrain? In San Mateo County, we have 34 watersheds that are each home to various habitats that sustain plant, animal, and human life. Depending on where you live, your watershed will eventually carry stormwater down to its final destination at the Pacific Ocean or the San Francisco Bay. When trash, oil, dog waste or other contaminants is left in the streets or sidewalks, it enters the storm drain system and eventually ends up in the ocean or bay. Do your part by keeping pollutants or trash out of the stormdrain and keep our watersheds healthy and beautiful!
